Principle of the method
muon once stopped in silica aerogel, forms ($65.5\pm1.8$)% muoniums and ($34.5\pm1.8$)% diamagnetic muons.
no muonium is stable in a metal. Thus, the precession spectrum gives us information on the timing distribution of the Mu reaching the foil.
